Yesterday a friend of mine asked if there was any way to get the seed of this original series (this was probably because of the title screen panorama image seed being found). But there are RPG, Magic, Skyblock and many other themed packs as well. Since you mentioned the technic packs originally, these are the more technical/machine based modpacks. If you're okay suddenly seeing tons of new stuff all around then I would suggest either "FTB Presents Direwolf20 1.12" (1.12.2) or "FTB Revelation" (1.12.2). If you wanted to be a little more recent then maybe go with "FTB Infinity Light 1.10" (1.10.2). I'd you're okay playing a few versions back then maybe "FTB Lite 3" would be a good pack (1.7.10). They are streamlined versions of some of the more popular packs, but they still contain the "core" mods. (#spoiler) = neat!
